THE 6TH ANNUAL IRONS BROTHERS PINE TREES CLASSIC

After weeks of pounding close out surf, Kauai came through again with sunny skies and fun surf for the Kauai Keiki favorite surfing event.  The Sixth Annual Irons Brothers Pine Trees Surf Classic took place February 10th at Pine Trees and three-time World Champ Andy Irons and Bruce Irons (Eddie Aikau Champ and Volcom team rider) were doling out the aloha big time.

The event was created for the Kauai kids so both Andy and Bruce could give back to a community where they grew up and in a backyard where it all began for them.

Special thanks go out to Nelson Togioka as the contest director and his judges, the water patrol and lifeguards who kept the children safe. Tim Kerlin of the Hanalei Gourmet for cooking lunch for the kids. Six surfboards made by tractor surfboards were donated for this contest, with Andy and Bruce deciding thru the day who to give them to. Body Glove needs a mention, as they gave 30 wetsuits and dozens of rashguards. Also contributing to filling all the contestants' backpacks with stuff and fun were Volcom, Billabong, Red Bull, Von Zipper, Nixon, Oakley, Da kine, DC Shoes, Y.M.C.A., Hanalei Surf, Tamba Surf, Kai Kane,  and Transworld Surf, Surfer and Surfing Magazines.
